
Paige Cox
Master of Education student at Cape Breton University
Paige Cox is currently enrolled in the Master of Education at Cape Breton University, the focus of her degree is on the Sustainable Development Goals and creating a brighter and more sustainable future for children and Youth. This current Degree is her 4th accreditation from a Post- Secondary Institution. She holds 2 Bachelor Degree’s from Cape Breton University and a Diploma from Holland College. In January of 2024 she was the recipient of the 2023 Cape Breton Vital Excellence Award for her volunteer work with youth within the community and promotion of Social and Emotional Wellbeing for children and youth in the Northside Area.
Paige’s commitment to her studies and community allowed her to represent her youth programming efforts at conferences in Charlottetown, Ottawa, Halifax, Sydney and most recently has been asked to present in Vancouver, British Colombia. She has also been invited to represent her electoral district on parliament hill as well as Rome (World Hunger Form) addressing issues with food insecurity across the world as well as the United Nations in New York to address inequalities around the world.
One of Paige’s biggest accomplishments in recent months is being the lone student speaker at Tedx Cape Breton University where her and 4 other individuals spoke in regards to perseverance. Paige spoke to her own story growing up with multiple cognitive disabilities and living with mental illness learning how to navigate her education and serving as an advocate for Diversity Equity and Inclusion for all, despite their background.
Paige is a board member of the Cape Breton University Alumni Association Board of Directors and Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Worker Association as the representing the Cape Breton Region. She is also currently a member with FRAYME Groundbreaker Program, National Alliance of Child and Youth and Young Canadian’s Roundtable for Health.
